Sound familiar?

A heat pump you can’t add.A charger with nowhere to connect.Breakers that trip when the dryer runs.

When the panel runs out of room or capacity, everything you want to add after it waits.

Your home’s electrical should keep up with how you live in it.

Panels & service upgrades

When the panel is what’s holding the house back

Your electrical panel decides how much power the house can use at once. When it runs out of room or capacity, everything you want to add after it waits.

Homes wired decades ago were not planned for heat pumps, EV chargers, hot tubs and a kitchen full of appliances running at the same time. Upgrading the panel, and the electrical service that feeds it, is usually the first job that makes the rest possible.

LuMar Electric upgrades panels and electrical services for homeowners in Moncton and surrounding areas and across Prince Edward Island. Our team includes Red Seal electricians, and we have been doing this work since 2011.

Why people call us about their panel

  • They are adding a heat pump, an EV charger or a hot tub and the panel has no room left
  • Breakers trip often, or the house still runs on an old fuse panel
  • A home inspector or an insurer has flagged the panel
  • A renovation or a basement finish needs new circuits
  • They have bought an older home and want the electrical brought up to date

Not sure whether you need a new panel or just a few more circuits? Describe what you are planning in the form below and we will tell you what it takes. Panel work is part of our Service & Repair department.

Often done together

A panel upgrade is rarely the only job on the list. The same visit can cover an EV charger installation, the electrical hookup for a heat pump, or rewiring an older home that still has knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring. If you are building new rather than upgrading, our new home construction team handles the whole system from the start.

Why LuMar

We know an electrical problem never shows up at a good time.

And that the hardest part is often finding someone who answers, shows up and explains what they found. That’s the part we’ve built LuMar around since 2011: licensed electricians, a clear price before the work starts, and a team you can call again.

Questions

What people ask us

Don’t see yours? Call the office and ask a licensed electrician.

How do I know if I need a panel upgrade?

Common signs are breakers that trip often, an old fuse panel, no room for new circuits, or plans to add a heat pump, EV charger, hot tub or renovation. A licensed electrician can tell you for certain once they’ve looked at it.

Do I need a new panel or just more circuits?

It depends on the house. Describe what you are planning in the form on this page and we will tell you what it takes.

Can you install an EV charger at the same time?

Yes. A panel upgrade often goes together with an EV charger installation or a heat pump hookup, and the same visit can cover both.

Can a panel upgrade be financed?

Service upgrades and panel replacements are eligible for financing through our partner Financeit.

An overloaded panel holds up everything else

If it waits

  • Breakers that trip more as you add load
  • Projects that wait because the panel can’t carry them
  • An inspector or insurer flagging it at the worst time

When it’s done right

  • Room and capacity for what you want to add
  • A panel that suits a heat pump, a charger or a hot tub
  • Work by a team with Red Seal electricians
  • A clear price before the work starts
