No two weeks look the same for a LuMar electrician. A service call at a house one day, a six-storey build downtown the next, a roofline or a parking-lot pole the week after.
What the work actually looks like
Since 2011 LuMar has grown into a team of more than 100 licensed and apprentice electricians, with offices in Moncton and on PEI. That size is what keeps the work varied. Here is some of what our crews have done, all of it published on this site:
- Downtown, six floors up. Tannery Place South in Moncton: 48 apartments and 6 commercial spaces over underground parking.
- Working with the utility. A 750 kVA pad-mount transformer, installed in coordination with NB Power.
- Up on the roofline. The exterior lighting at Dieppe City Hall, designed and installed by our team.
- Whole neighbourhoods. New homes at Merlot Developments in Dieppe and The Village at Jonathan Park in Moncton.
- Out of reach from the ground. Signs, pole lighting and service masts from our bucket truck.
- Every day. Service calls: tracking down a fault, upgrading a panel, putting in an EV charger or pot lights.
- Smart and decorative. SmartSpace automation and permanent outdoor lighting.
Residential, commercial and service crews work across New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, so you are not wiring the same house for ten years.
What comes with the job
- Full-time, year-round employment
- Competitive wages
- Health, dental and vision benefits
- A pension plan
- Paid vacation
- A work clothing and tool allowance
And off the job
The crew gets together outside work too: the LuMar Golf Event is three years running, there is a summer staff party (the 2023 one is on our careers page), and we are in our third season behind the bench with the Moncton Wildcats.
Who we are hiring
We are looking for 1st to 4th year apprentices, licensed journeyperson electricians and foremen — residential, commercial and service. If that is you, the careers page has the open positions, or you can apply now.
